1.) Do you have any New Year's resolution?
Katherine : to exercice more patience.

2.) What is a typical work day during the shooting of The L Word for you?
Katherine : that really depends. usually, i get to set early in the morning. go through the usual rounds of makeup/blocking... if i'm working with leisha, then we just hang out together in our trailers and watch movies.

3.) You have a wonderful androgynous kind of style. Who/what are some of your favorite designers and shops?
Katherine : thank you, that's very sweet. thankfully i keep my wardrobe after every season so i don't have many shopping sprees. but when i do, it's vintage stores or random boutiques. there isn't one specific place that i love. but hedi slimane is my fashion hero. so if his store opens up here soon, then that's where i'll be.

4.) I've read that you have been in several theatrical productions, including "As You Like It." Do you enjoy theatre as much as film and television, and do you plan on performing in any plays in the near future?
Katherine : when i did theatre, i loved it. it's very different than film/tv, but it's a better rush for sure. i would love to be part of a production soon. i miss it. i hope the opportunity comes my way.

5.) How do you plan to spend Christmas? Do you have special traditions or habits? And I'd also like to wish you a Merry Christmas.
Katherine : i'm gonna stay in L.A. with my loved ones. as long as i can watch "a christmas story" at least twice on the TBS 24 hours marathon, and "a christmas carol" with alastair sim, then i'll be happy.
and i wish you and everyone here a WONDERFUL MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR.

1.) How did you get into modelling? Was it something you've always wanted to do, or did somebody suggest you take it up?
Katherine : i only got into modelling cause i had just graduated college and i needed to make money. i got into an agency through someone who recommended me, which was very nice. i can't say i enjoyed that process. maybe i have too short of an attention span, but it wasn't something i found stimulating and i'm not a fan of wearing clothing i don't like.

2.) Are there any particular directors that you'd love to have the opportunity to work with? Who?
Katherine : thankfully because of this show, i have worked with a lot of them. like kim peirce, lisa cholodenko, allison anders, moisés kaufman...etc. there are so many more, it would take up an entire page. the two that come to mind immediately are ang lee and david fincher.

3.) What was the first, last, and best concert you ever went to?
Katherine : the 1st was michael jackson's "thriller". the last was "the like"... who are fantastic. check them out. and the best would be "the pixies", ani d. and "the black crows".

4.) Do you support, or are you involved with any charities? If so, what prompted your involvement with them?
Katherine : i'm involved in a charity for cancer. for obvious reasons.

5.) What got you interested in acting, and what made you choose the roles you chose?
Katherine : i got into it because my best friend was a theatre buff who brought me to a children's theatre group he belonged to. i got the part of christopher robin in a winnie the pooh play and the rest is history.
i like to choose projects that i would want to see. but i also like to look to see if it would be a challenge or a cake walk for me. too many cake walks can get a bit dull.

1.) First, I just wanted to thank you (& your partners in crime) for the hilarious commentary of LAND AHOY. As a fan, I appreciated the time you guys took to give us a DVD extra worth buying the set for. Are you planning on doing a commentary for season 3?
Katherine : thank you. i'm so glad you liked it. i hope they would ask us to do another one. but, maybe we went over the top... ahh fuck it... it was our pleasure. we really had the best time doing it. considering how bad those extras are, i'm happy to know that you guys found at least one thing that was entertaining because i don't think those letters from olivia cruise are really worth the 69.95 price tag.

2.) Do you ever think about how the gender-bending characters of Cheryl, Jake and Shane might have an impact on your audience?
Katherine : i think that is more of a question for them. i just hope they enjoy it, and don't think i sucked, cause that would be bad.

3.) What is it about the role of Shane that made you want to audition for the part in the first place and what was your reaction when you were told you got the part?
Katherine : i liked that she didn't have a lot of dialogues. she was referred to so much in the 3rd person, i figured out pretty quickly what she was perceived as. i thought there would be a lot of room for the character to grow if it went to series. and considering i hadn't worked in almost year because of 9/11, i was overjoyed to be employed again.

4.) I've read that you paint occasionally in you spare time. What syle paintings do you create? And who's you favorite artist and why?
Katherine : you know what? i haven't painted in a few years. but my favorite artist is gustav klimt. it seems like he was almost neurotic with filling in the littlest detail. and his texture is full that i could stare at it for hours and still not be able to take it all in.

5.) Do you think that what you learned at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts has helped you with your acting? If so, which [AADA] technique do you use most to access your character?
Katherine : aada was a definite steeping stone for me. and i learned a lot there. i fucked up more there than doing everything perfectly. but that is the point of school. so thank god for that. but i have to say, i don't think about adler or strasberg, meisner... all of those "methods". they confused me more than helped me. i was more worried if i was really using my "sensor" correctly, than just being honest in a scene. that is a long way of saying... i ran far far away from all those techniques when i graduated and just learned how to trust what i was doing.

November 18, 2005 - Comments (35)

1.) In a previous Q&A you mentioned that you "barely" speak another language. Care to share which language that would be?
Katherine : spanish. i went to mexico for a month or so a few years back, and bushed up on it a little. since then i can barely speak it.

2.) Whose acting career do you look up to and where would you like to see your career going?
Katherine : i really admire people who just do their jobs, without all the hollywood hoopla. patricia clarkson, philip seymour hoffman, jane adams, frances mcdormand, etc... i just really enjoy watching them, and they have never given a bad performance. i don't know what is in store for me. i just hope i can carry on doing projects that will challenge me and provoke a risk, then i'll go home.

3.) What has been the funniest practical joke someone of the cast has done to you?
Katherine : leisha and mia had our producer, rose lam, come up to us and say that ilene wasn't happy with some dailies. so we would probably have to stay in town over the long weekend and reshoot them. (now, i was planning on going home during that time and they knew how excited i was about leaving for a few days). rose wasn't letting up and i got so visibly mad. and right when i was about to pop, she let the cat out of the bag. all that anger turned into all of us laughing our asses off for about an hour afterwards. it was so believable. i give them props for pulling that off so perfectly.

4.) With all the public uproar due to spoiler gossip and cast sacking gossip, was it hard for you, and even the rest of the cast, to keep your chins up and carry on filming?
Katherine : we didn't really know what was being said. all we knew for sure is that ilene didn't want spoilers out this year. that's all i was aware of.

5.) You've mentioned your passion for surfing a couple of times. Can you tell us about how this passion started? What is it about surfing that draws you in, how old were you when you first began?
Katherine : i learned to surf when i was 13 or so. my cousin david and i taught ourselves one summer at the jersey shore. since that 1st moment of standing, i started going every summer for a few years after. when i moved to nyc i let it go, but i promised myself that if i ever lived in l.a., i would go right back into it. so now it's like my meditation. my favorite thing to do. it is just amazing to get into the water and basically cut yourself out from the world. i just have so much fun when i'm out there. i don't think i can find all the words to describe it.

November 04, 2005 - Comments (25)

1.) What would you likely being doing for a living if you were not an actor?
Katherine : good question! i think i'd be working at my father's violin shop. i was wondering about that the other day, and came up with that conclusion. but in my fantasy, i would travel around the world getting paid to surf.

2.) What are your thoughts about the fan fiction that is written about the show and the characters, including Shane, of course? Do you ever read any of it or have you on your off time?
Katherine : i have never looked at fan fiction. maybe i would be secretly upset if i read something that i liked more than what was actually written for me to do.

3.) Of all the characters you have ever played, which do you think is most like you and why ? Which do you think is least like you and why, and which would you want to be more like and why?
Katherine : i think that i share similarities with all of the roles i've done so far. but at the same time they are very different from me in the sense that they all have been much more daring in their lives than I have. i could never dress as a boy and fool everybody for as long as jake did. i also wouldn't get myself in a situation of killing someone while i was undergoing hormone therapy to change my sex and lie to my boyfriend about it. nor do i have a roster of 1400 people or so as my conquests.
i can relate to them because they are people making mistakes as they go. they have all had something to cover up, to not reveal. it's self-protection, it's being defensive and anybody can relate to that.

4.) What qualities do you look for in people?
Katherine : honesty, loyalty, maturity, humor.

5.) If you were to compare yourself to Shane, how is she different from you? And what do you have in common?
Katherine : i think my comparison with her would be a loner. i always got the impression that she wasn't scared to be alone. she enjoys it. i can relate to that. i'm an only child so i'm very used to enjoying my own company and it doesn't scare me. in fact, it can be very peaceful and lovely not to talk and hear your own voice.
the ways we differ... where do i begin? i don't fear commitment and i don't understand the term "open-relationship'. i think that is bullshit.
i don't want to judge shane, but trust me... sometimes i really have to pick my own brain to understand why she would do certain things. but at the same time, i look up to her because she does go by the beat of her own drum. and that is an admirable quality. she has many things i wish i possessed and many things i'm grateful i don't possess. i guess we have a love/hate relationship. but whatever it is, it is intense and rewarding.

October 21, 2005 - Comments (16)
Tight schedule for Katherine this week, hence the 3 questions for this session.

1.) I read that you like to travel. What are your favorite destinations?
Katherine : i'm actually not a big traveller by nature. but when i do i like a place that has a beach with warm water.

2.) After mentioning you loved "the goonies", it made me realize we all have a couple of films that have meant a lot to us in our childhood, that we watched over and over. Is there a film that you consider perfect in many ways that you never get tired of rewatching? What's the film you always recommend ?
Katherine : i think "midnight express" is damn near perfect, along with "cool hand luke". i think i have recently recommended "the texas chainsaw massacre". i loved the remake and i love the texture they used in the shots. this may sound crazy, but the sounds of the water dripping and the lighting were to me, so beautiful....

3.) Do you ever get tired of answering the same questions over and over again during interviews about the show or your character? If so, are there questions interviewers have never before asked that you feel would greatly help others to properly understand the meaning behind the show/your character?
Katherine : i get so sick of answering the same thing over and over again. i think the worst is when they ask questions that pertain to season 1 or 2 and we are in the midst of shooting season 3. i can't remember what i did yesterday, let alone my character from 2 years ago.

October 07, 2005 - Comments (35)

1.) You are by far one of the most popular characters on the show. Do people recognize you on the streets and if so, what's the craziest fan reaction you've gotten?
Katherine : i get recognized a bit and it depends on where i am. i was at a bar last year in nyc, and this waitress brought me a drink, saying it was from the girl at the table. so i'm on my way outside and i stop by to say thank you and this girl grabs me so hard and is trying to hold me. it was almost violent and a bunch of people had to help get her off... there were some others but i can't remember them.

2.) As an actress you obviously feel comfortable with performing in front of many people at any one time. You mentioned you like surfing and I get the hint that you're very laid back and easy going kinda girl. I'd like to know, how do you handle the other part of your job? The premiers and parties, the press, the cameras in your face, the dressing up and the behaving appropriatly part?
Katherine : i don't enjoy those events. i don't like feeling like i have to dress up. and i'm terrible at small talk/schmoozing whatever you call it. it is part of my job, and when i HAVE to do it, i'm more than happy to. but all the cameras and screaming... make me uncomfortable. i usually just want to run away and have a smoke in peace.

3.) What are your plans during the L Word filming break ?
Katherine : i'm going to work as much as i can on my hiatus... depending of course on what's out there. i plan on fixing up my house a little more and just savor being home.

4.) The fan base your career has sprouted is amazing, especially with both Young Americans and the L Word. You seem to have people admiring you for not just your obvious acting talent, but your physique, choices in roles you play, and the overall message your chosen roles have given to fans alike. I know if I saw you walking down the street I would be star struck. I was wondering if there are any actors, authors, filmmakers, or musicians that would make you feel the same way. Do you look up to anyone in the media in the same ways your fans have come to admire you?
Katherine : i met christopher reeves when i was 6 and that was so huge for me. i was the biggest superman fan. i didn't talk, i just sucked my thumb the whole time and stared. when i was 11, i met sean astin and at that point, "goonies" was my favorite film. i couldn't believe i was meeting mikey... so i met my childhood heroes, i don't think anyone can top that for me.

5.) Pick one word that best describes each of your castmates...
Katherine : jennifer: calm; erin: witty; leisha: optimistic; pam: smart; laurel: talkative; mia: eccentric; sarah: loud; rachel: polite.

September 23, 2005 - Comments (14)

1.) Recently Ian Somerhalder was asked [in the Friday Five] if he could share one of his favorite experiences from the YA show. And he told us, as a joke, you and Ed Quinn decided to do a take when Finn walks in the bathroom, Jake runs out in her towel, jumps into the arms of Finn, and lips locks in a tightly-embraced make out session. I personally think that's pretty funny and daring. Did you really do that? And could you share with us one of your favorite experiences from YA?
Katherine : yes, ian told a very true story. i think we were all a little punchy having it be the last day of filming and all. ian and i had to do a shower scene. i think it was ed's idea to play the joke. i thought they were gonna be pissed because we were wasting time. but as soon as we did it, we heard this uproar of laughter from behind the monitors. it was a fun way to end the day.
i personally remember our ever so generous producers steven antin and joe voci treating the cast to a 4th of july weekend at a beautiful home on the water. we all had so much fun, i will never forget that.

2.) How do you feel about becoming a lesbian icone? Do you realize that every woman watching the show - gay or straight - are all falling for you?
Katherine : it's a little daunting, but i'm flattered and i take it as a compliment. but i think shane should get the credit, because she is the cool one.

3.) How was it for you, working with Camryn Manheim as Veronica Bloom? She's said that you pretty much got all the cool genes and made her realize what a nerd she was, but I thought your scenes together were both hysterical and just filled with this fantastic, prickly kind of chemistry?
Katherine : thank you so much. i loved working with camryn. she is fantastic. i could barely keep a straight face while we worked together because that woman is so fucking funny. i wish she was a cast regular.

4.) If you had a choice, what character would you be other than Shane and why?
Katherine : do you mean in the l word or on another show? i'll do both.
1st off, i couldn't do justice to the other characters on the l word, like the actors who play them. but, if i had to choose, i would do a combo of jenny/alice. i think those two characters are so layered and interesting. there is a whole spectrum of emotion with those two roles. now on another show... i would pick billy or nate from six feet under. or sawyer/sayid/kate from lost.

5.) Out of all of the guest stars that you have worked with on the L Word, which co-star was the funniest, the one you learned the most from and the one that you keep in contact with the most?
Katherine : that's a tough question. i laughed the most with camryn [Manheim] and i learned the most from rosanna [Arquette]. i don't keep in contact with them on a regular basis, but ro. and i have lunch together sometimes and i've run into camryn a few times in l.a. which is always a happy surprise. but i must say the coolest woman who has been on the show thus far is kelly lynch. that woman is just so damn cool.

1.) Since you film The L Word in Vancouver, you must spend most of the year there. How do you feel about the city? What do you like best about it? Could you see yourself living there permanently or are you ready to go home when you're finished filming for the year?
Katherine : we spend a lot of time in vancouver. this year it's not so bad. we started filming in june and we wrap in a few weeks. i love vancouver, it's a beautiful city that's clean and you can do a lot of things here that you can't do in l.a. but it's not my home. every year, usually around the last month is when i'm really itching to get the hell out of there and go back to my life.

2.) You're probably unaware of this, but there is quite a bit of discussion regarding your hair, believe it or not! Does the stylist on the show dictates who gets what done to their hair, or is it more of a collaborative effort? Was it your choice to go short for the second season ? (kick ass look by the way!)
Katherine : actually. i know my hair has been part of discussions. i've gotten emails asking me why i cut it because it looked better long. then i'll get other emails saying it looked like a rat's nest in the 1st season when it was long. i feel like i can't win on this debate.
here's the deal... last year, i just got an impulse to chop it off but when i got it cut, i felt like it was a bit too short for my taste. and even i didn't really like it until it started to grow out. now, to clear up any confusion for this year... in the 1st few episodes of 3rd season, my hair may look a little crazy and curly... that's because i had been surfing so much and the salt water did a number on me. but i promise IT WILL LOOK BETTER AS THE SEASON GOES ON.

3.) Do you speak any other languages?
Katherine : barely...

4.) You said in an interview that you like to listen to the french rapper MC Solaar. How did you hear of him?
Katherine : i have a lot of mc solaar's music. i haven't the slightest clue where i heard him. to be honest though, i haven't listened to him in a long long time. but i love some of his stuff.

August 26, 2005

1.) Who or what has had the biggest influence on you as a person and an actress?
Katherine : that's a tough question because i've been influenced by so much. i have a really strong support group, who i learn from on a daily basis. to be more specific, i think back to how my father conducted himself and he was just so cool, so i ask myself: "how would bill moennig handle this?". i ask myself that question a lot.
on a creative front, anytime i see a film or a performance that i have a strong reaction to, good or bad, is an influence. i have found i learn just as much from the shit i can't stand to the things that i love.

2.) Could you describe yourself in five words?
Katherine : clean, forgiving, cranky, impatient, shy.

3.) How much influence do you have on the clothes that Shane wears? What is more you, the clothes in season 1 or 2?
Katherine : the style of shane comes a lot from me. depending on what i'm into at the moment, we incorporate it into shane's wardrobe. season 1 was def. not me, but the character was new and i was just getting to know her. season 2 was more my influence, not as severe as the 1st season. i was into the used levis and small button downs over vintage t-shirts.
i have to say this season is the most me. cynthia [Cynthia Summers, stylist for The L Word] and i shop for shane. so whatever i like, we get. i've been trying to get the dior homme look going, so you have to judge for yourself if i did a good job.

4.) Do you feel that playing the character of Shane has changed you at all in your everyday life? If so how?
Katherine : i'm the same person in my everyday life as i was before i met shane. when i meet people who like the show, naturally they think i'm just like her but if anyone spends 10 mins with me, they will see the difference... when i come home from work, i let it all go. i've been playing her for 4 years now, so it's easy to turn it on and off.

5.) Many actors combine artistic careers (like Leisha Hailey who is a musician as well as an actress). Do you see yourself exploring another artistic path?
Katherine : not at the moment. to do well in this career is enough for me right now. it takes up a lot of time and energy. but i will say i wish i could do 2 things at once. but my brain doesn't work that way.

August 12, 2005

1.) What's been the most exciting/enjoyable thing you've been able to do thanks to your fame?
Katherine : i really don't see myself as famous. in fact, i'm not famous. it seems that fame puts you on the cover of tabloid magazines so your life can be analyzed by millions of people who don't know you. that doesn't interest me. my life really hasn't changed that much. so if anything fame related has happened to me, i gotta say, i probably didn't even notice it.

2.) From Y.A. till now, you still keep your amazing figure. What sports or work outs do you practice, and do you follow a special diet?
Katherine : thank you, that is a very sweet thing to say. I'm sure many would disagree and say i was too skinny. i actually surf a lot when i'm home and that is such a great workout because it's pure endurance. i really don't enjoy gyms, but when i do go to one, i'm only there for about 40 mins. i'll run for 20 and do light weights for 20. that's about it. mainly, i don't eat a lot of sugar.

3.) do you check out the sites and forums dedicated to you and the show? If so, what do you think?
Katherine : the only site that i have really inspected is the lwordonline. they usually have more info about the show than i do. i've seen a few others, but i can never remember their names.

4.) At age 10, you wrote and directed an improvised version of 'winnie the pooh'. Then you worked behind the scenes in theater. So I'd like to know if in the future you plan to get involved in the production / directing of a show or a movie?
Katherine : honestly, i don't know the 1st thing about directing. i knew more about it as a kid. i don't have much of an interest in it. maybe that will change after some more experience. i would, however, love to produce. i think i could crack the whip and get everything the project needed.

5.) What is your favorite scene of the l word, why? And the most memorable one so far, and why?
Katherine : my favorite scene was 1st season when alice had her flashback about her 1st love. she was in that college indie band. i thought it was hysterical. when i saw it, i laughed so hard, and leisha nailed it. as for memorable... when jenny dove in the pool on the cruise and it looked like her skirt became a flotation device.

July 29, 2005
Busy schedule for Katherine, so "only" 3 questions for this session.

1.) I read somewhere that your dream role would be to portray Patti Smith. As a long time listener of her music and a big fan of yours, I wonder what specifically calls out to you that makes you crave that role?
Katherine : that is true, portraying her would be a dream for me. i've always been a huge fan of her music and what she stands for, which to me is a strong woman who is not afraid to be who she is. also, i find that era of music and the lifestyle behind it fascinating; it's never been fully explored. it's a shame really, cause this was a time when people did what they wanted and never questioned it. i personally find that patti smith and that time that surrounded her (late 70's early 80's) were completely raw. so in a very small nutshell, that's why.

2.) Can you tell us about the characters you play in Dead Girl's Diary and Art School Confidential?
Katherine : the characters i play in these 2 films are, for once, very different from one another. in "dead girl's diary", the character is really trapped in herself. very smart but not able to fully trust what has to offer.
in "art school confidential", the role isn't very big but the character is quite despicable. she takes herself too seriously and isn't afraid to flaunt it.

3.) Do you and the other cast members ever play pranks on each other while on the set? If so, like what ?
Katherine : we prank each other all the time. it's how we pass the long days away. either that or doing imitations of people we know. at the end of last season leisha, mia and i rearranged ilene and rose lam's offices. and to this day we still don't know if they were pissed cause they never said anything. maybe it wasn't as funny as we thought.

July 15, 2005

1.) You said in the previous Q/A session that when you're driving to work, you like to blast a song in the car to get you focused. Can you tell us what kind of music you use for that? And what are some of your favourite artists?
Katherine : yeah, i blast music maybe a little too loud at times. right now i'm listening to "the killers", "metric", "cutcopy" and always the "pixies". so when i said i blast music to work, i'm sure it was one of those.

2.) Which character do you like most out of all the characters you have played ? And why ?
Katherine : that is a really hard question, cause i loved all of them. i think the most rewarding role for myself was cheryl avery on "law and order, svu". because it was so well written and it allowed for the subtleties of the character and what she was going through to come out. but again at the end of the day, i have loved almost every character i've played for different reasons.

3.) You were amazing in YA playing Jake. I love all your work. Do you still keep in touch with some YA cast member ? And will you and Ian Somerhalder work again together ?
Katherine : thank you. i haven't spoken to anyone from y.a. in a long time. it's usually through a friend that we send messages to one another. as for ian and i working together. i wouldn't be surprised, it's such a small business. i'm sure at some point our paths will cross.

4.) How many tattoos do you have ? Can you describe them and give their meaning?
Katherine : i have 4 tattoos thus far. i have a 2 on my finger which is my life number. a k on my wrist. i had a dream that i got a tatt of bird on my arm... so i did it in real life. and a violin with the letter M in the middle, which is for my father.

5.) Are you gonna promote the show in others countries? If so, which ones and when?
Katherine : i think at some point i will promote the show, it's just difficult doing it while we film but if i have time during the hiatus then i will def. try to.

July 1rst, 2005

1.) What are your thoughts on this show in regard to the importance of it giving the Gay/lesbian/bi community a voice within mainstream media? How much pressure does the cast feel to portray this community correctly and are they aware of the amount of scrutiny they are under? ( p.s. This is such a groundbreaking show ! Kudos to the entire cast for 2 great seasons!! )
Katherine : when we started the show, it was a bit daunting to know that this was the first show entirely devoted to the lesbian community. but at the same time i think we all knew that it would sabotage the work if we held onto the pressure. we let that go, so the work could be the focus. as each season goes on it gives the show more time to introduce and therefore represent a broader spectrum of sexuality and gender. but at the end of the day not everyone will love it, and thats o.k. we all are just trying to do the best jobs we can.

2.) Why do you think Shane fell in love with Carmen?
Katherine : i really can't answer that yet. considering i'm filming the 3rd season where those questions will be answered, hopefully.

3.) If he is going to be in further seasons, where would you like to see Shane's relationship with Mark go?
Katherine : well, mark is not returning from what i understand. so i guess it just ends there.

4.) Can you tell us if you (& Sarah & Mia) are going to do any commentary for the season 2 DVD's? If so, which episode(s)?
Katherine : actually leisha, erin and myself did commentary for the episode where we go on the cruise. that will be on the dvd.

5.) Do you ever use music to help you mentally/emotionally prepare for certain scenes?
Katherine : music is very important to me and sometimes i use it. when i'm driving to work i'll blast a song in the car to get me focused.

June 17, 2005

1.) What would you say is still the hardest part, for you, about playing Shane? Is there a hard part, anymore, after all this time playing her?
Katherine : i would have to say the hardest part about playing shane at this point, is to keep her evolving, but not forgetting everything that has happened through out the last 2 seasons.

2.) What was the most challenging scene for you as an actor in season two? Why?
Katherine : the most challenging work last year was the 1st episode. its always the hardest for me, just falling back into the groove of the show and the character after having 6 months off. its always a challenge. it takes me that first episode to remember how to act.

3.) Do you have any backstory worked out in your head for Shane, or do you just prefer to leave that up to Ilene?
Katherine : i created a backstory for shane when we were shooting the pilot, way back when. it was more for me as an actor, just to understand who she was. but when her history gets written about in the script it is usually a collaboration between ilene and myself.

4.) Where would you like to see Shane at the end of season five or even season six? Which direction would you personally like to see her go?
Katherine : i actually cant even begin to imagine what i'll be doing at that point. let alone shane. just one season at time is all i can handle.

5.) If you saw yourself in a bar... would you ask yourself out?
Katherine : probably not, cause we would look too much alike.
